Candidates who have passed any degree can apply.
Typing proficiency in English or Hindi is mandatory for the posts of Typist.

Salary (initial pay as per 7th CPC levels):
- For Level 6 posts (e.g., Station Master, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor) the basic is ₹ 35,400 per month.
- For Level 5 posts (e.g., Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant, Senior Clerk): ~ ₹ 29,200 per month.
- For Level 4 posts (e.g., Traffic Assistant): ~ ₹ 25,500 per month.
